Three people were killed and 18 others injured when a bus and a trailer truck collided on a road outside Arak city in central Iran, reported the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.
Three of the injured are in critical condition, a hospital official said.
The accident took place some 50 kilometers from the capital city of Arak in Central province, on a road leading to the city of Salafchegan.
The cause of the accident is still to be ascertained, as police continue their investigation.
Iranian roads are notorious for road accidents; one person is killed and injured on average every 40 minutes and seven minutes, respectively.
