Four Israeli family members were wounded, including a toddler who sustained serious injuries, when a Palestinian rocket launched from the Gaza Strip on Friday afternoon hit their home in southern Israel. The three other family members were moderately wounded in this attack. According to Haaretz, Palestinians fired two other rockets toward the town of Ashkelon on Friday afternoon. One rocket hit the southern Ashkelon industrial zone, causing damages.

Israel vowed harsh response for these attacks. Israeli forces were reportedly fired shells at northern Gaza Strip areas used as Qassam rocket launching sites, following this attack.

Earlier, Israeli troops stationed at Beit Iba checkpoint near Nablus in the northern West Bank arrested on Friday two Palestinians alleging they had explosive belts on them.
