Taiwanese Exports to UAE Increase 13 percent in 2000

Taiwanese exports to the UAE increased 13 percent in 2000, totaling 812 million dollars, reported the Emirati News Agency (WAM). 

It added that Taiwanese imports totaled 693 million dollars, comprising 36 percent increase. Total trade between the two countries, said WAM, stood at 1.5 billion dollars up by 22.5 percent as compared to 1999.  

Taiwan's major exports to the UAE were fabrics, computers, peripherals, telecommunication equipment, auto parts, electrical and electronic components and various consumer products.  

Major imports from the UAE were petroleum oils and aluminum ingots, the agency said – Albawaba.com
