ALABWABA - Iran announced alternative shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, including a new map designed to help vessels avoid mines laid during the conflict with the United States and Israel.

The Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy published a map outlining alternative routes for ships in the Strait of Hormuz to help them avoid sea mines.

Earlier, the Tasnim News Agency reported a buildup of ships and tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, shortly after reports that Iran had closed the strait.

This came shortly after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz had slowed sharply and then come to a complete standstill, following what it described as an Israeli violation of the ceasefire in Lebanon.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that "the attacks on Lebanon are a diabolical act by Israel to prolong the war and destroy diplomacy, and the United States will bear the consequences."

Iran and the United States announced Tuesday a two-week ceasefire deal to end the war, which began on February 28, when Washington and Tel Aviv declared a preemptive attack on Tehran.

Iranian Revolutionary Guards responded by announcing "Operation True Promise 4", launching attacks against Israeli targets and American assets in the Middle East, including Jordan and the Gulf countries [the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia].
