Syrian wrestlers collected Saturday a total of 8 gold medals at an international competition held in their capital, Damascus, with the participation of 80 wrestlers from nine countries.
The 10th Damascus International Wrestling Championship included the two types of the game: Roman and Free wrestling.
The good news did not stop here for the hosting country. The Syrian wrestlers were able to snatch from their guests 10 silvers and 8 bronzes.
In the Roman wrestling, the Syrians earned 4 gold medals, taking the first place, followed by the Iranians champions who came second with two gold medals, and Iraq third with one gold.
On the free wrestling ring, the muscular hosts won 4 more golds, 5 silvers and 3 bronzes, followed also by Iran who snatched 3 golds and 2 silvers, while the Iraqis did their best but came up with one gold medal, which granted them the third place – (Several Sources).
