ALBAWABA - Anahid Fayyad and husband Muthanna Gharaibeh donate late son’s corneas to help patients see again.
In a remarkable act of humanity, former Jordanian Minister Muthanna Gharaibeh and his wife, actress Anahid Fayyad, decided to donate the corneas of their late son, Karam, in an initiative aimed at giving a new chance at life to patients who have lost their sight.
This decision came after Karam's death at the beginning of March. The parents, former Jordanian Minister Muthanna Gharaibeh and his wife, actress Anahid Fayyad, chose to transform their painful moment of loss into a message of giving and hope by donating his corneas to benefit two patients in need of corneal transplants.
Dr. Muhammad Abdul Hamid Al-Qudah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Hashemite University, talked about this project. He said that he got a call from the young man's father soon after he died to tell him that his family had decided to donate his corneas. This shows a deep understanding of how important it is to donate organs after death.
The judges said that this decision will give two people the chance to see again for a long time. They also said that this kind of action helps spread the culture of organ donation and makes people more aware of how important it is.

In his speech, he talked about the truth of organ donation in Jordan and said that the Kingdom has a very advanced medical system and specialized staff that can handle this problem well. He did say, though, that regulating this area at the national level still needs more work so that all the resources are used to their full potential.
In discussing ways to promote a culture of donation, the judges suggested adding an option to the government's "Sanad" application that would allow citizens to register their wish to donate their organs after death. He believes this step could encourage more people to participate in saving the lives of others.
The Gharaibeh family's initiative received widespread support on social media, with many considering this decision to embody the highest ideals of humanity and to offer a model of how pain can be transformed into an opportunity to plant hope in the lives of others.
