A Syrian state-run newspaper said Saturday that peace in the Middle East will not be possible until Israel gets rid of its nuclear arms.

The Damascus-based Tishrin newspaper said Saturday that "Israel has entered the club of nuclear states."

"The whole world is fully aware that Israel's nuclear program, or nuclear terror, could not make peace in the region as there is no room for a just peace in the light of a nuclear terror," the daily said.

It added that any comprehensive Mideast settlement should include ridding the region of weapons of mass destruction, because "peace could not be established under duress and in the light of nuclear terror." (Albawaba.com)
