As Syrian society slowly becomes more computerized, the Tourism Ministry has developed a plan to link all tourism and travel agencies country-wide to a new computer system this year.

Tishreen daily reports that this network will enable all the relevant bodies to access the ministry's databank in Damascus. The government is now working to develop this databank, part of which will eventually be published on the Internet.

Additionally, the plan calls for establishing new computer training centers in every school and faculty that is within the tourism ministry's jurisdiction. Eng. Anas Aswad the head of the information division at the ministry told the newspaper that the goal of this plan is to help develop the country's tourism services.
