Malaria claims 4,000 lives a month in Sudan, the country's Health Minister, Ahmed Bilal Osman, said Sunday, launching a plan to halve the death rate.
In a statement, cited by AFP, his ministry said the cabinet approved the plan aimed at cutting the malaria death toll in Sudan by 50 percent and the disease incidence by 25 percent. It will focus on water drainage and use of insecticide-treated nets, the statement added. (Albawaba.com)
