ALBAWABA - Israeli media said on Sunday, September 15, 2024, that a stabbing incident close to Jerusalem's Damascus Gate had left a Border Police officer with minor injuries.
According to the accounts, Israeli forces shot and killed the attacker, who was identified as a Palestinian, after the incident.
Israeli authorities shut off all of the entrances to Jerusalem's Old City and the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex after the incident. Local business owners were also compelled to close, our reporter for Al Jazeera reports.
There has been an increase in violence and hostility against Palestinians throughout the West Bank, especially occupied East Jerusalem, during the time of this stabbing. Since the start of the Gaza War on October 7, 2023, assaults against Palestinians and their homes have been intensified by Israeli soldiers and settlers. Thousands of people have been injured and hundreds of people have died as a consequence of the continuous war in the Palestinian lands.
Hamas called on Palestinians and their resistance forces to intensify attacks against Israeli soldiers and settlers, aiming to thwart Israeli plans and hold them accountable for their actions against Palestinian land, people, and holy sites.
