ALBAWABA - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that his country is following Italy's move and it would send a navy ship to assist the Global Sumud Flotilla after it was attacked by Israeli drones, damaging several ships, while they are on their way to deliver aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.

An Italian navy ship has joined the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters to "provide the necessary support."

The management of the Global Sumud Flotilla said early Thursday that several governments had warned their citizens participating in the flotilla that Israel is preparing to conduct an attack against the ships.

The warning came as activists on the Omar Al-Mukhtar ship detailed on Wednesday that three drones were hovering over the ship, in what appeared to be a "scanning operation."

Despite the drones, activists on the Omar Al-Mukhtar ship stressed that the vessel is still sailing alone on its way to join the Global Sumud Flotilla to break the siege on the Gaza Strip, adding that they will continue on their path.
