Six Algerian soldiers were killed in an ambush in a mountainous region east of the capital Algiers where Islamic insurgents are active, local press reported Monday.
The attack took place on Sunday in the Ouled Aissa part of the Boumerdes region about 50 kilometers east of the capital, according to the reports, cited by AFP.
