In Colombia, rebels ambushed a pickup truck carrying policemen in northern Colombia on Monday, killing six officers and their civilian driver in a hail of gunfire and grenades, a state governor said.
Two officers who survived the attack were both injured, Bolivar state Governor Gustavo Lecompte said. He stated that 30 rebels with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, were responsible, according to AP.
It marked the second rebel ambush on police in as many weeks in this South American country. Monday's attack took place near the village of Zambrano, some 340 miles north of Bogota. (Albawaba.com)
