The Israeli government was meeting Thursday morning to discuss the suicide bombing in Jerusalem the previous day in which 16 people were killed. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was quoted as telling cabinet ministers that Palestinian leaders were "crybabies," Army Radio reported, and that Palestinian Prime Minister Abu Mazen was "like a chick who hasn't grown his feathers (yet)." Israel would continue to act against "terror," Sharon said, until the Palestinian prime minister does.
Meanwhile, according to the Tel Aviv-based Haaretz daily, Israeli security officials decided to continue to fight Hamas "by all means", in a meeting held late Wednesdy at the Defense Ministry. Israeli security officials warned that no Hamas leader will be immune to Israel's wrath.
Hamas spokesman in Gaza Strip, Mahmoud Al-Zahhar, said Wednesday Hamas and the Palestinian people at large would forcefully and determinedly resist Israeli efforts to annihilate the Palestinian people and turn millions of Palestinians into wanderers, dispersed in the four corners of the globe.
Earlier, two Palestinians were killed in another Israeli helpicopter missile strike on Gaza City on Wednesday night. Attack helicopters fired two missiles at targets in the Gaza Strip and Palestinian sources reported two people were killed and five were wounded in the strike. All in all, ten Palestinians were killed in two separate Israeli helpicopter missile strikes on Wednesday.
According to Palestinian sources, the missiles were fired at the Sabra neighborhood in Gaza City, where Hamas founder and leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin lives.
Israeli sources said that the missiles were fired at a Hamas cell that was about to launch mortar shells at the nearby Netzarim settlement.
The two dead were identified as Rami Abu Kmil and Mohammed Daghmash - members of Hamas military wing. (Albawaba.com)
