The Sossai and Sharaf Groups, have joined forces to create Somec-Sharaf Middle East, LLC.
With a joint vision to be a market leader in the Architectural Envelop industry, the two groups set out from the start to establish a locally based production facility. The agreement signed includes a draft to launch a 6,000,000 AED manufacturing facility in the heart of Dubai that will be ready for business beginning January 1, 2006. Abiding to strict Italian design specifications and European performance standards, the new production facility will be located in Jebel Ali, thus facilitating prompt, efficient service to the local and regional markets.
Somec, a Sossai Group member, is already extensively known in the international market for its innovative systems of architectural envelops. With clients such as Toyota, Audi, BMW, and multiple government agencies among others, Somec has successfully fusioned aesthetics and practicality in the development of Residential and Commercial facades for over 25 years. With this deal Somec now joins Sharaf Industries, a recognized local group with international presence, in bringing their expertise to the region. The group broke ground on the first joint development in the United Arab Emirates, with the Marina Residence project- a multi-million dirham undertaking that will ultimately consist of two, 19 story towers - totalling over 170 apartments.
