Security Foil Hijacking Attempt of Iranian Airliner

The flight security forces of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Monday foiled an attempt to hijack a plane en route from Ahvaz to Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, reported Iran news agency (IRNA)  

Quoting the Public Relations Department of the IRGC, the agency said that three persons aboard flight number 1492 of Ariatour Airlines attempted to highjack the plane at 10:30 local time but their  

attempt was aborted by the flight guards. The plane later landed safely at Bandar Abbas airport.  

The report said the hijackers were arrested and handed over to  

judicial officials, said the agency. The identity of the hijackers and the motive behind the attempt were not disclosed – Albawba.com
