ALBAWABA - Syrian security forces discovered an underground prison in the Homs countryside that was used by the regime of ousted President Bashar Assad to kidnap civilians, in partnership with Iranian militias, according to the official Syria Al-Ikhbariya channel.
The secret underground prison was found in the Al-Mukhram area in the northeastern Homs countryside. The prison, which leads to a 5-meter-deep and 40-meter-long tunnel, contained torture chambers and chains.
When the Syrian forces entered the prison, they found books and publications linked to Iranian-backed militias, indicating that it was primarily affiliated with groups that fought alongside the Bashar Assad regime for years.
Syria Al-Ikhbariya said was used to kidnap local residents for negotiations and financial gain.
