Saudi prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz has donated the funds to build a new Center of Cancer Diseases in the Moroccan city Agadier, and a new road linking two nearby cities, reported the Saudi news agency.
The new Center of Cancer Diseases is being built at the al Hassan II Hospital in Agadier. The foundation stone for the project was laid last year by Moroccan King Mohammed VI and Prince Sultan, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General of Saudi Arabia. The prince has donated five million US dollars to build the Center.
In addition to the health center, Prince Sultan has funded a new road linking Anza Warrior and Tamraght, four kilometers north of the city of Agadier in south Morocco. The cost of the road project is nearly three million dollars.
Saudi ambassador to Morocco, Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Moheddin Khoja handed over funds for the projects at Agadier on Wednesday. The ambassador handed over the first instalment of nearly one million dollars for the health center to Moroccan Interior Minister Idris Jato, and transferred a final payment for the road construction project to the contractor.
The Moroccan Governor of Sous region, Masah Dira'h, praised the initiative of Prince Sultan that contributes to strengthening road network in Agadier, commending the Prince's contribution to accomplishing various economic, social and health projects in the city. (www.albawaba.com)
