Talks between Iranian and Saudi officials have been postponed, days after the Riyadh expressed concern about Tehran's intervention in Iraq. Saudi officials on Wednesday claimed that Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki had dropped his plans to visit Riyadh.
In recent days, Mottaki has visited Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman as part of his Gulf tour.
Saudi Arabia has expressed concern over the intentions of the Shiites in Iraq.
Iran's foreign ministry has rejected as baseless and unrealistic allegations that Iranians are infiltrating Iraq.
On his part, Iraq's interior minister Bayan Jabr rejected the Saudi complaints on Monday, saying he did not wish to be lectured by "some Bedouin riding a camel".
