Saudi Arabia and Morocco agreed Tuesday to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), quoting a statement as saying.
A joint statement issued after Saudi foreign minister Prince Saud al-Faisal and his Moroccan counterpart, Mohammed bin Issa co-chaired a joint commission in Rabat, stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture and society.
"The two sides agreed on the importance of reaching a suitable formula to facilitate the establishment of a free trade zone as soon as possible," said the statement, cited by SPA.
Trade volume between the two countries reached in the year 2000 124 million dollars, said Kuwait's News Agency (KUNA).
Both ministers, the agency said, also discussed regional issues, especially the stumbling peace process between the Palestinians and Israelis.
The Saudi minister arrived in Rabat Tuesday, coming from Tunisia, where he held talks with senior officials and signed agreement to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries -- Albawaba.com
