Saudi Ambassador to Morocco, Dr. Abdulaziz Muheideen Khouja visited on Saturday the three Saudi citizens detained by Moroccan authorities, accused of belonging to a cell of the Al-Qaeda network, which was planning to carry out suicide operations inside Morocco and against American and British interests in the Strait of Gibraltar.
Hilal Jabir Oadah Al-asiri, Zuhair Hilal Mohammad Al-thubaiti and Abdullah Misfir Ali Al-ghamdi are currently held in Okasha prison in Casablanca.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Khouja said that his visit was to reassure about their situations.
With regards to the accusations against them, he noted that it is too early to speak about their involvement in what they had been charged with until current investigations are completed.
"The Moroccan authorities are cooperating with the Saudi security authorities in the investigation," he said.
Dr. Khouja expressed confidence in the Moroccan security and judiciary bodies.
