ALBAWABA - Russia carried out heavy missile and drone attacks targeting Kyiv overnight on July 6, the Kyiv Independent news agency reported Monday.

The attacks resulted in the killing of at least 11 people and injuring another 46. This came just hours after President Volodymyr Zelensky posted online warning of a new large-scale attack targeting Ukraine's capital.

A residential building suffered slight damage between the 5th and 9th floors in the Podilskyi district of the city, Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, said Monday.

Photos and videos were shared online of the damaged building, which appeared hollow in a certain part.

Nonetheless, several other residential multi-story buildings were hit by Russian airstrikes in the Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts, and three other apartment buildings were hit in the Darnytskyi district.

At least one person was killed, and 10 others were injured in areas outside the capital in Kyiv Oblast, regional Governor Mykola Kalashnyk announced.

On the other hand, the Russian army announced shooting down 519 Ukrainian drones overnight, targeting the regions of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and other areas.
