Romania is ready to cooperate with Iran in the fields of electricity and other industries, said Romanian Minister of Transport Dan Iean Popescu in Bucharest on Wednesday.

Popescu told Iran's Energy Minister Habibollah Bitaraf that the “revival of age-old cordial ties with Iran has been put on the agenda of the Romanian government,” according to the official Iranian news agency (IRNA).

He expressed hope that relations between Tehran and Bucharest would expand.

Bitaraf said earlier in a meeting with Popescu on Tuesday that Romanian companies could contribute to the establishment of various Iranian power plants, especially two thermal power plants in Tabas in Khorasan Province.
