ALBAWABA - An advisor of the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces spoke to Reuters and confirmed that the RFS has no links to the assassination attempt against Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.

Rapid Support Advisor said: "We have no connection to the attack by the two drones on a military base east of Sudan during Al-Burhan’s visit to it."

Earlier Al Jazeera reported citing sources that Abdel Fattah al-Burhan survived an assassination attempt, however, the attack resulted in the killing of five people.

Sources revealed that "suicide drones" targeted the Sudanese army chief while he was attending a graduation ceremony for students of a military college in the Red Sea State.

The assassination attempt on Al-Burhan comes amid the ongoing conflict since April 2023 between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.
