Retired General Rachid Benyelles declared Wednesday in Algiers that he decided not to stand for the presidential election "to outstrip those who wanted to disqualify me." According to APS, Rachid Benyelles pointed out, shortly before conducting a press conference that he preferred to withdraw from next April 8th presidential election "not to leave it to the Constitutional Council to ascertain a disqualification scheduled in advance."
