Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres secretly met on Sunday with Palestinian Parliament Speaker Ahmed Qorei (Abu Ala), reported Haaretz newspaper on Tuesday.
Qorei reportedly informed Peres of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's intention to “arrest militant Hamas and Islamic Jihad activists,” the paper said, citing Palestinian sources.
