Registration for Quiz World Cup 2002 (QWC 2002), the "International Intellectual Olympics for Master Brains", is now open. QWC 2002 will begin its UAE-based preliminary rounds at the regional level on March 31 in Dubai.
Each participant will be charged Dh150 and Dh300 for a team to participate in the open written competition. Those to win the regional level will be able to consequently participate in the national level and then the grand level, free of charge.
According to Khaleej Times, the competition, which is targeting all youngsters above school grade III, is conducted in four various levels - regional, national, international and grand final.
The registration forms will be available from schools and different outlets throughout the UAE. Global Quiz Club (GQC), the brain behind this grand intellectual event, has a Dubai Media City license and is a joint venture of different nationalities and fields world-wide.
The first international final will be held in Singapore in late December 2002, with 60 national teams from 10 different countries as participants. The first and second winning teams from the international finals of Quiz World Cup (2002-2004) will qualify for the Grand Final, in which 72 master brains from 30 different countries will take part.
