RCSI Dubai announce MSc Program in Healthcare Management

RCSI Dubai, the sister institution of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) will be offering an MSc program in Healthcare Management for recent graduates and experienced professionals in the UAE.  The program, commencing at the Knowledge Village from mid-October 2005, will help students develop skills required for a successful career in the healthcare environment.
“The origins of RCSI in Dublin dates back to the 18th century and over the past thirty years the College has become increasingly active abroad in the provision of education, training and hospital management. The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland sees itself as an international organisation based in Dublin.  The establishment of RCSI Dubai further underlines the College’s commitment to providing the highest standards in medical education within the GCC region”, said, Mr. Michael Horgan, Chief Executive, RCSI.
The two-year part-time program is open to healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, specialists, technicians, administrators and managers who wish to develop and enhance their management knowledge and skills. Following successful completion of the course, the students will be awarded an internationally recognised postgraduate qualification that is valued by both the private and public sectors.
The program includes topics that offer better understanding of the complexity of health and healthcare organizations and systems, business processes, finance and economics, managing resources, information technology, strategy, and leadership.  In addition to conventional teaching resources, students will also have access to a specifically designed e-learning systems, to support their studies and encourage independent learning, project work and research.
The programme will be run directly under the supervision of RCSI and students will benefit from the College's expertise as a world leader in healthcare education, in addition to the strong network of support that has been put in place both at the academic and management levels.
