Maldives President Ma’moun Abdel Qayoum reiterated his country’s support of Syria’s stances under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad concerning peace and stability in the region as well as the restoration of the usurped Arab and Palestinian rights.
Receiving the credentials of the first Syrian new non-resident ambassador to Maldives Dr. Mohsen Al-Khayer on Monday, President Abdul Qayoum hailed the role played by late President Hafez Al-Assad in various spheres of NAM, OIC decisions and the UN charter, according to SANA.
Furthermore, President Qayoum expressed his high appreciation of his meeting with President Bashar al-Assad during the Doha summit and hoped that relations between Syria and Maldives would witness further progress and development, the news agency added. (Albawaba.com)
