Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres is expected to visit Turkey in two months time, Israeli diplomatic sources in Ankara told the Turkish Daily News on Saturday.
Peres, said the sources, is set to bolster bilateral relations with Turkey.
“Peres's visit to Turkey will be another strong indicator that Turco-Israeli relations are developing.”
His visit will also highlight Turkey's role in the Middle East peace process at a time when tension has escalated in the region, said the sources.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ismael Cem sent last week a letter to Peres, said the paper.
"I believe that during your term in office, the existing close relations and cooperation between Turkey and Israel will be further developed and strengthened in every field to the mutual benefit of our peoples as well as to the benefit of the region," wrote Cem to Peres – Albawaba.com
