Paragliders on October 7 once again: Fear grips Israelis

ALBAWABA - Israelis are still afraid of paragliders because they are reminded of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation from the previous year. 

Residents of northern Israel reported seeing paragliders hovering in the sky on Monday night, raising fears of a repeat of the Al-Qassam Brigades' October 7, 2023, cross-border raid.

As tensions increased, authorities promptly told residents to stay indoors. Later on, however, Israeli media made it clear that the paragliders were a part of an Israeli military parachute training exercise.

This incident happened as hundreds of people gathered in Israel for celebrations commemorating the first anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood assault, amid alarm sounds echoing across the country. Many towns are in a state of anxiety as they worry about further assaults.

In a short statement, the Israeli military addressed the situation and assured the public that there was no immediate security concern in the northern territories, despite early allegations of an airborne incursion.
