Palestinian factions agree on 'honor document'

Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, has invited all local and foreign media and TV channels stationed in Gaza Strip to cover a press conference of the armed wings of the various Palestinian resistance factions on Saturday at the Unknown Soldier square in Gaza city.

The Brigades said in its invitation that "All armed wings of the Palestinian resistance factions would publicly sign an 'honor document' that would organize relations among the armed wings and between them and the PA".

Abu Obaida, Qassam Brigades' spokesman said that the document "stipulates that as long as the Israeli occupation still exists on the Palestinian lands, the Palestinian people and factions must resist it with all means, and armed struggle will remain the strategic option for all resistance factions, and that any Israeli presence in any inch of Gaza Strip would turn it into a new Lebanese Sheba Farms".

The spokesman asserted that the document stresses the respect of the Palestinian political and diplomatic action as long as it remained adherent to the Palestinian national constants without compromising any Palestinian legal right.

He further affirmed that the document emphasizes the resistance factions' adherence to the temporary truce declared in the Sharm Al-Sheikh conference last February as long as it remained a national option, asserting their right to respond to every Israeli violation.

Abu Obaida noted that the document followed intensive consultations among the factions, carried the seals and signatures of all participants and kept at the supervising committee created by the participating factions.

"Our collective feeling of the conspiracy against the Palestinian resistance weapon, and the attempts by certain sectors to exploit the present security mess to advance their personal interests and confiscate the resistance's weapon were the motives behind issuing such a document", he underlined in comments published by PIC.
