Authorities in Pakistan have released five Sudanese trainee pilots two weeks after their arrest for suspected links to terrorist organizations, sources said Wednesday.

The cadet pilots were arrested from their homes in this north-western town near the Afghan border on March 30th.

The foreign office earlier this month said they had been attending a training course at a private club in Peshawar when they were detained for "investigations".

However, the Peshawar Flying Club said in a statement they were handed over to the Sudanese embassy on Monday, AFP said.

The statement said "they were permitted to continue their flying training". (Albawaba.com)
