Oman’s elected Majlis will debate a new labor law, drafted by the ministry of labor, in its fourth and final ordinary session of the year in October, reported the Gulf News on Wednesday.
The draft law was reviewed on Monday by the Majlis' office at its 11th regular meeting of the year, said the paper, adding that it was then passed on to the Legal Committee of the 83-member house.
The review of the draft law coincided with the speech delivered by Sheikh Amer bin Shuwain al Hosni, the minister of labor and social affairs, to the 89th session of the International Labor Conference (ILO) in Geneva, reiterating the sultanate's commitment to uphold the dignity of laborers, said the paper – Albawaba.com
