Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said Sunday that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will in "due time" announce good news on its nuclear program.
Speaking to reporters at his weekly press conference, Hosseini said that "installation of 3,000 centrifuges is a technical issue," adding that "it is for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran to raise the issue in due time."
A reporter, pointing to Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki's statement Saturday that there was a possibility of reaching a comprehensive formula on Iran's nuclear case, asked whether Iran would accept long-term suspension of uranium enrichment to build confidence in the international community after declaring it has reached the peak of nuclear technology and would celebrate its nuclear victory before the end of the Iranian year.
"The issue of suspension should not be linked with the comprehensive formula. "Iran's stance on suspension of enrichment has not changed," Hosseini said.
He said that Mottaki had spoken of "a broad-based solution that is possible and could guarantee the Iranian nation's rights." Hosseini reiterated Iran's stance that it was open to "any comprehensive plan that will guarantee its rights."
