InterContinental Hotels Group, the world's largest hotel operator, announced today that Monjed Salha has been appointed Area Revenue Manager for the Northern Gulf.

In the new role, the British manager – who speaks English and Arabic – aims to improve profitability levels at InterContinental Hotels Group’s properties in the Northern Gulf region. Focusing on promoting the group’s high-standard hotel rooms and conference facilities, Salha also aims to apply systems processes that deliver best practice operations.

“For more than a decade I have been committed to ensuring the on-going development of my career and it is wonderful to have been appointed to this senior management position with InterContinental Hotels Group,” said Salha.

“My family and I are enjoying being based in Kuwait, and I look forward to the challenge ahead of me.”

Having entered the hospitality industry in 1993, Salha has accelerated consistently through the ranks and moves to this senior position from his previous posting with InterContinental Hotels Group as Executive Assistant Manager, responsible for sales and marketing, at the Crowne Plaza Bahrain. Before joining InterContinental Hotels Group in 2000, Salha worked for leading hotel group’s properties in the UK.

With a passion for reading and travelling, the married man – with two children, Daniel, 5, and Adam, 2 – looks forward to further enhancing InterContinental Hotels Group’s position as the largest multi-branded hotel operator in the Middle East.

Commenting on Salha’s appointment, Denis Johnson, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, InterContinental Hotels Group, Middle East and Africa, said: “For more than five years, Monjed has shown commitment to ensuring the growth of InterContinental Hotels Group in the Middle East.
