Israeli police arrested Wednesday nine residents of the former Soviet Union in Be’er Sheva, after having crossed the Egyptian border into Israel illegally, reported Haaretz newspaper.
The report did not specify their original country.
The Negev police district arrested the nine - eight women and a man - in addition to the driver who transported them from the border to Be’er Sheva.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the women were to work in escort services in the center of the country, said the paper.
They refused to cooperate with the police, saying only that things were far worse in their former country, according to the paper – Albawaba.com
