The InterContinental Nairobi’s reputation for being one of the city’s leading hotels for over 35 years is being enhanced with the property undergoing a US$ 6.8 million refurbishment.
Boasting 371 rooms, the InterContinental Nairobi, is the largest hotel in the city, with accommodation ranging from Standard Rooms to the opulent Presidential Suite, suitable for both business and leisure travellers.
Four floors, approximately 150 rooms, in the casino wing of the hotel are being fully renovated and transformed to meet the InterContinental Hotels Group brand standards and client’s expectations.
Termed as a “contemporary-classic” design, the rooms are decorated with luxurious classical dark wood furniture, along with classical fabric featuring a contemporary twist, with an African influence. Stained glass windows within the rooms are interwoven with a graphic interpretation of African art.
The public areas, such as corridors and lifts, are also currently undergoing refurbishment, along with modification at the front of the hotel to better facilitate traffic flow and create a welcoming ambience for all hotel guests.
The InterContinental Nairobi has redecorated its Conference Center, which now offers modern, air-conditioned, state-of-the-art facilities, accommodating dinner parties from 20 – 500, cocktail Receptions for up to 1000 and meetings from 10 – 800 people.
The hotel’s Club InterContinental, situated on the 6th floor, the upscale brand's exclusive facility dedicated for discerning business travellers, will undergo a new facelift to feature the latest comforts and state of the art equipment. The floor’s stylishly private lounge, which serves breakfast and regular refreshments throughout the day, will be luxuriously decorated, creating a calming ambience. This comfortable environment ensures even the busiest business guests feel as relaxed and refreshed as possible after their stay
Renovations will also take place in the hotel’s business centre, meeting rooms and lobby to fulfill the business and leisure needs of the corporate guests. Three of the property’s meeting rooms will undergo expansion to accommodate a dedicated boardroom set-up for 12. Each room will feature built-in credenza units housing the latest audio-visual equipment and drop-down screens, as well as accommodate built-in mini-fridge and tea and coffee facilities.
Each room will be fully renovated and decorated to deliver customer satisfaction, through well-equipped and state-of-the-art facilities and services, with high back business chairs, lighting and wireless and wired high speed internet connectivity, while each boardroom table will encompass personal data connections for each seated delegate.
“For over 30 years our reputation in the market has remained as the city’s leading upscale international hotel and our guests’ feedback on our refurbishment plans and added services is highly encouraging.
