Gamal Mubarak, the eldest son of Egypt's president, is to get engaged to the daughter of a wealthy businessman. Gamal Mubarak, 42, will get engaged to Khadiga al-Gamal during a family reception on March 3, Egypt's state-owned newspapers reported, quoting sources at the presidency Sunday.
Khadiga, born in 1982, is an American University in Cairo graduate. She Khadiga is the daughter of Mahmud al-Gamal, a prominent businessman in the tourism and construction sectors.
Gamal leads the ruling National Democratic Party's policies secretariat and was lately promoted as deputy secretary general. However, he has denied he intended to run in the next presidential election, scheduled for 2011.
