The Moroccan authoritiues have anounced that a comprehensive economic census will be launched in March with the aim of rehabilitating the information sector in the country.
The Bayan Al Yawm daily cited Mohammad Al Asha’ri, Minister of Culture and Communications as saying that it will be the first time such census will be carried in the kingdom and will continue for 15 months.
The newspaper also quoted minister of economy and planning, Abdul Hamid Awwad, as saying that this comprehensive census aims, in particular, at creating a full record of the various economic units and setting a base that will help implement a unique system for defining these units. It will also provide a base for research through collecting demographic samples of economic units and developing the economic statistics for governmental and professional organizations — Albawaba.com
