Nine crewmembers of the Panama ship “Gelfo” that wrecked late last week off the shores of the Atlantic Coast village of Oualidia, some 280 km south of the capital Rabat, were rescued by Moroccan rescue units.
The Moroccan Merchant Navy said on Monday that the eleven-member crew left the ship onboard two rescue boats, adding that nine people managed to make it to the shores, while two others were reportedly missing, according to MAP news agency on Tuesday.
The ship was on its way to Agadir after a stopover in Cadis, Spain. (Albawaba.com)
