Morocco’s King Mohammed VI and French President Jacques Chirac exchanged viewpoints on the development of a "special strategic partnership" between their countries during talks held in Casablanca, according to a Moroccan official source.

Chirac arrived on Monday in Casablanca for a short private visit and left the same evening. During the President's brief visit, both leaders reviewed various means to strengthen ties between Rabat and Paris "in the manner of a special strategic partnership to serve the societies and economies of both countries," MAP news agency reported, citing a foreign affairs spokesman.

Moreover, the discussions between the two leaders dealt with cooperation between Morocco and the European Union (EU) and "regional and international issues", the spokesman added. (Albawaba.com)
