ALBAWABA - 23 people were killed in a strike by the Sudanese Armed Forces on a market in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.

Sudanese Emergency Response Rooms took to Facebook to announce the tragic incident. "Twenty-three people were confirmed dead and more than 40 others wounded, and transferred to hospital, after military air strikes on Saturday afternoon on the main market" in southern Khartoum," the post reads.

According to United Nations data, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) recently gained an advantage in the fighting that erupted in April 2023, when long-simmering tensions between army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Dagalo erupted in a conflict that has displaced more than 10 million people - approximately 8.1 million people within Sudan and approximately two million forced to flee the country.
