Microsoft delivers workshop on Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 to government sector in Qatar

Microsoft has successfully completed a training workshop for systems administrators in the Qatari government, to show them the benefits of Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005. The workshop, which was held at the Information and Technology Center, demonstrated how MOM 2005 tools can be used to help improve efficiency and performance in enterprise networks.

Microsoft is working closely with these system administrators to help them develop enterprise-class operations management and to improve the efficiency of the IT operations MOM 2005 provides tools to reduce the complexity of managing a network and automates key tasks, giving IT personnel more time to spend on more important activities.

This workshop is one of a series of workshops that are scheduled to be delivered at the premises of the Information and Technology Center (ITC), which belongs to the General Youth Authority, charged with increasing the level of IT awareness and know-how of young people in Qatar.

“ITC has undertaken this opportunity to provide our premises for the Microsoft MOM 2005 workshop because we are convinced of the immense value of Microsoft technologies, and we want the system administrator community to fully understand this performance management tool,” explained Fadhel Al Kaabi, CEO of the ITC. “We have fully equipped premises at the Center and by holding the Microsoft workshop here, we can ensure the delivery of high quality training infrastructure to benefit the various government entities with their technological demands.”

Several of Microsoft’s government customers in Qatar have deployed Windows Server System for countrywide communications and collaboration. Microsoft showed the system administrators how to improve the manageability of their IT infrastructure with MOM 2005, by providing comprehensive event management, proactive monitoring and alerting, reporting and trend analysis..

“When system administrators are fully trained on our products they have a better awareness of the features, functions and possibilities that the product provides and of the solutions that they can build on the product. This MOM 2005 workshop showed them and further enhanced their knowledge of all the capabilities and functionalities that Windows Server System offers, to help the government entities of Qatar maximize their operating potential. We are very pleased and proud that the ITC is providing us with their premises and technical support to deliver this workshop,” said Mohammad Hammoudi, Country Manager – Microsoft Qatar.
