The Middle East Broadcasting Centre (MBC), the leading regional television channel, announced that its 2005 season after Ramadan will feature ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ 2005 program with George Kordahi as presenter.

‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’ 2005 has new elements designed to make the program even more exciting for Arab viewers.

“We have a very entertaining and exciting program presented with new improved features. With this winning formula, we’re very confident that ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’ 2005 will be an even bigger success,” said Mohammed Al Mulhem, Group Director of Marketing, Public Relations, and Commercial at MBC.

George Kordahi expressed his delight in presenting the program for the second time. "I am proud to be associated with such a highly successful program on MBC,” said Kordahi. “Programs that are rich in information require a certain personality to be able to reach people's minds and make them interact with the program.  Due to the fact that I enjoy reading and researching, I feel that this program really does suit my personality. I am keen to collaborate with MBC to ensure the success of the program,” he continued.

"When we were offered to broadcast the new formula for ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’, we did not hesitate because both the program and the presenter already have a huge following in the region. MBC is a first class broadcaster and it reinforces our reputation to show one of the world's most popular programs," added Mulhem.

The 2005 edition of ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’ has additional features to the original version. The set has been improved with a new lighting system providing the program a refreshing look. A new computerized system now allows the audience to participate interactively, giving them the chance to answer the same questions asked of the contestant.

Additionally, the contestant's companion in the audience will have his or her answer highlighted and made known to viewers at home. The graphics have also been improved, providing a clearer and richer viewing experience.

An SMS component has also been added, giving people the chance to become program contestants simply by sending a text message. Viewers can also use this service during the show to answer the questions, sharing the contestant's Millionaire experience.

Another modification to the program this year will be the "extra lifeline." In addition to the traditional options of discarding two answers, asking the audience and calling a friend, the contestant can "switch" from the current question to another completely different question.

But the biggest modification to ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ 2005 this year is the prize money, which has doubled to 2 million Saudi Riyals. MBC Group will announce more details about the program’s dates and timings shortly.

Are you ready to be the next millionaire?
