ALBAWABA - A massive fire broke out at a Novo Nordisk office, a Danish pharmaceutical group, leading weight loss drugs maker.
Danish news agency Ritzau reported that the massive smoke plumes were visible from kilometers away from where the incident took place in Bagsvaerd, in the greater Copenhagen area.
Martin Smith, the Copenhagen Fire Service chief of operations, said that the building had been evacuated, with nearly a hundred firefighters dispatched to the scene.
"It’s a massive fire. We have about 100 firefighters on site," Smith said. According to Smith, the fire started in a container at a Novo Nordisk construction site and quickly spread to the roof of the company's neighboring office building in Bagsvaerd, which is located in the northern region of greater Copenhagen.
There was a fire at a different Novo Nordisk building site last week in Kalundborg, but it had no effect on the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, The Guardian reported.
