An 84-year-old Egyptian man ran away from an old people's home to marry a girl aged 20, the Middle East said on Friday, citing a report by the Arabic-daily Al Ahram.
Police caught the pensioner and persuaded him to go back to the home, said the weekly.
Although neither the girl nor the lover was underage, the match was not to bring them together.
Financially, he had no money apart from his pension.
Emotionally, he is too short for kissing his loving girl, as his girlfriend is “twice his height.”
“When they are both standing, she kisses him on the top of his head,” Cairo-based paper said.
"The old man is not rich and sometimes looks a bit lost," said one of the staff at the old people's home.
