ALBAWABA - After President Donald Trump's announcement to suspend operation "Project Freedom" in the Strait of Hormuz, a Pakistani source said Wednesday that Tehran and Washington are nearing a final agreement.
Reuters reported Wednesday, citing a Pakistani source, that Iran and the United States are very close to approving a one-page memorandum to end the war.
In addition, Axios said, citing officials, that the Trump government and Tehran are close to agreeing on a one-page memorandum to finalize the conflict that erupted on Feb. 28 and lasted for 40 days.
The U.S. expects a response from Tehran on several key points within 48 hours.

The proposed memorandum would declare an end to the war and the start of a 30-day negotiation period for a more detailed agreement.
Talks would discuss the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, limiting Iran's nuclear program and lifting U.S. sanctions imposed on Tehran.
A war began when Washington and Tel Aviv launched a preemptive attack on Tehran on Saturday, February 28, striking Iran and killing senior military commanders, including the country's then-supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.
In response, Iran announced Operation "True Promise IV", an ongoing Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) military campaign initiated in early 2026, targeting Israel and United States military positions in the Middle East.
