ALBAWABA - So far, 11 countries have announced that they will be recognizing the State of Palestine today and tomorrow, along with the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), which will be attended by a number of world leaders.
UN General Assembly President Annalena Baerbock stressed that the two-state solution conference in New York could increase pressure on the Israeli government regarding the war in Gaza.
The New Arab reported that out of the 193 member states of the international organization, at least 149 recognize the State of Palestine, which was declared by the late President Yasser Arafat in Algeria in 1988.
Below is a list of countries that have declared their willingness to recognize the State of Palestine, a move that reflects growing international support for Palestinian rights and efforts to establish their independent state amid the ongoing war in Gaza:
