Lebanon's President Concludes Tunisia Visit

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud concluded a two-day visit to Tunisia Thursday after rounds of talks with his Tunisian counterpart Zine El Abidine bin Ali.  

Reports said that the talks covered bilateral ties and a number of regional and international issues.  

During the visit, the two countries signed two agreements, the first on the creation of a higher joint committee and the second on bilateral cooperation in the domain of transport.  

The two sides also discussed means to enhance economic cooperation, to promote partnership, to increase trade exchanges and to speed up the creation of a free trade zone between Lebanon and Tunisia. 

Lahoud had told Tunisian news agency on that he wishes to bring back Lebanon's status as a link between the West and East on both Arab and international levels – Albawaba.com
